Mall of America Weekend

We spent Friday night and Saturday in Bloomington, MN. Friday night we crashed at the hotel. Saturday started off with free breakfast at IKEA, some shopping, and then rides at the Mall of America. Karis bought a swimsuit and a nightgown with the money that Grandma and Grandpa Newman gave to her for Easter. She was very proud to show them off. Karis wore the swimsuit to her lesson this afternoon.
Karis also used her Build-A-Bear gift card that Mom Mom gave to her for Christmas. This is "Monkey Bunkey." I have to hand it her her... she always picks something different for her stuffed animal selection as well as their names. We now have "Bear" the dog, "Cuddles" the rabbit, and "Monkey Bunkey." Our plan for the week is to continue on the housework and install the new lights that we bought at IKEA.

She had a "High School Musical" basket waiting for her this morning. One thing this kid loves is music. Where did that come from?

After church, we went to Eric and Linda's for lunch. We had an Easter egg hunt in our backyard this afternoon. Now, we're eating dinner European style... cheese and crackers, since we are still full from lunch. Hopefully we will be able to catch some rest this week.

A weekend to celebrate...

This was a weekend of celebrations. We went to an adoption party Saturday night for Jen, Lance and Abram Wulf. Abram was officially adopted this past week. He was also dedicated in church this morning. I don't think there was a dry eye during the service.
This afternoon we celebrated our friend, Michelle, for 11 years of service- leading children's ministry at our church. She is stepping down and will be fulfilling other roles. Each of us had the opportunity to share the things we appreciate about her. Peg (standing) was encouraging her in this picture.

Karis continues to love playing the big sister role, even before she is officially a big sister. This is her playing with Norah at Michelle's party.
